Agenda & Speakers: In addition to NYBA staff sharing a recap of the year, we welcome an exciting slate of guest speakers:
Puget Sound Pilots: Enjoy a special presentation from Puget Sound pilot Captain Sandra Bendixen Mancini, the first female Puget Sound Pilot. She will share more about what she does - and what they wish recreational boaters knew. Great for helping your clients who are newer to boating gain comfort around large commercial vessels. Captain Mancini is a Seattle native who grew up living aboard a charter boat owned by her parents that did trips to Alaska during the summers. She is a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy. After graduation in her 20's she took every job that she could - traveling all over the world as Second Officer, First Officer and finally as Captain. She is now licensed for all waters all ships regardless of size in the entire world! What an accomplishment. She will speak on her fabulous journey and will tell us about some of her more interesting destinations - like McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Most importantly as a Puget Sound Pilot - she will tell us what she wishes recreational boaters knew! An engaging and fabulous speaker - you do NOT want to miss this!
S3 Maritime: Greg Allen will join us for an informative presentation on lithium battery systems, helping enhance your knowledge of onboard systems and improvement options available for your clients' vessel's electrical system.
Recreational Boaters Association of Washington (RBAW): Bob Wise, President of RBAW, will highlight their ongoing advocacy efforts to support the recreational boater and grow recreational boating across Washington state. Learn about how they maintain a healthy legislative agenda each year advocating on behalf of northwest boaters to hold the line on taxes and fees, and ensure boaters benefit from the watercraft excise taxes they pay each year to the state.
*** Registration Deadline: November 12th at end of day. Payment must be received to confirm your registration and you must pre-register for the event.***
