Phishing Email Scheme Using NYBA Logo and Names

Thu, May 09, 2024 2:00 PM | Leslie Simmons (Administrator)

We want to make our membership aware of a phishing scheme that is being sent out under the guise as coming from Northwest Yacht Brokers Association using Karli's name (Karli HoulĂ©) but coming from a fake email called "karli@usasuperyachts.com". It uses the NYBA logo, and it uses my name, but it is not being sent from us.

IF YOU RECEIVE IT, PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN THIS EMAIL, DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY ATTACHMENTS, DO NOT TRY TO VIEW THE PAGE WITH THE CODE PROVIDED.

Here is a screenshot of what the content of the email looks like:

If you receive similar messages, please feel free to forward them to us - but do not click on links, download attachments, etc. Best practice would also be to always have an up to date anti-virus system installed on your computer to minimize impact - if you did click on any of the links, I would recommend running your anti-virus software/scan.

Thank you,

The NYBA Team
